Communication

Picture1(1)

We are conscious that some of our children are articulate but that for some vocabulary is lacking and prior to the impact of Coronavirus and lockdowns there were speech and language issues. We believe that children have a voice and should be taught how to use it, but this needs nurturing. We want the children to feel confident to speak, knowing that when they speak up they won’t be judged. Our curriculum provides a wealth of opportunities for pupils to develop their language and vocabulary, helping them to articulate their learning, express their thinking and opinions clearly in discussion, debate and presentation, as well as enabling collaboration and exchange of ideas. We want our pupils to use a wide range of communication tools as a means of increasing confidence, developing self-regulation and nurturing their critical thinking skills.
