Autumn - The Fox and The Star
For the first four weeks of the half term, we will be following a whole school approach to the story ‘The Fox and the Star’, an inspiring story by Coralie Bickford-Smith. It follows the journey of a Fox as he learns to believe in himself and make new friends. This is connected to our Thrive approach, and is aimed at helping the children to settle back into school life and transition to their new year groups.
In English, we will be exploring feelings & character descriptions, poetry & settings, and researching foxes for non-fiction writing opportunities.
In Maths, we will explore shapes, data and number - including negative numbers - as well as linking graph work to music & emotions.
We will also be doing a lot of creative work, including paintings inspired by Vincent Van Gogh...
