Core Units
History
Our history curriculum is designed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding of the past, helping pupils appreciate how history shapes the world around them, and in particular their local community. Through engaging lessons and hands-on activities, children explore key events, significant figures, and diverse cultures, from ancient civilisations to British history. We aim to develop critical thinking skills by encouraging pupils to ask questions, analyse sources, and understand cause and effect. Rooted in British values, our curriculum promotes respect for different perspectives, fostering a sense of identity and global awareness. Through history, pupils gain insights into the past that inform their future.
Geography
Our geography curriculum empowers pupils to understand and engage with the world, from local surroundings to global regions. Through hands-on fieldwork in our local area, map skills, and the study of physical and human geography, pupils explore diverse landscapes, climates, and communities. We encourage a deep appreciation for the planet and instil a sense of responsibility toward sustainable practices. Our curriculum highlights how natural and human activities shape our world, developing pupils’ critical thinking and spatial awareness. By nurturing curiosity and respect for the environment, we aim to inspire informed, thoughtful learners ready to contribute positively to their world.
