Road Trip UK

Road Trip UK

Come join us as we road trip through the many counties of the UK, stopping at four varying localities along the way! Children will embed fully their understanding of human and physical features of geographical regions of the UK through the use of grid references and Ordnance Survey maps.  Through this growing knowledge of the UK children will be able to recognise topographical features such as hills, mountains, coasts and rivers and be able to understand how some of these may have changed over time.

Stone Age to Iron Age

Get ready to travel back in time and uncover the earliest chapters of British history! Children will step into the Stone Age, becoming hunters and gatherers to explore how early humans survived. They’ll investigate the three key periods of this era, discovering how tools, homes, and lifestyles evolved. As society advanced, so will they—moving into the Bronze Age, where they’ll even create their own ‘bronze’ using chocolate! They’ll explore how metal changed the way people lived, from farming to weaponry. Finally, they’ll enter the Iron Age, uncovering the rise of hillforts, warriors, and tribal communities, and how these developments laid the foundations for life in Britain today.

The Romans

Step into the world of the Romans and discover how they changed Britain forever! Children will explore why the Romans invaded, how they built their empire, and what life was like under Roman rule. They’ll debate what was the most impactful invention the Romans introduced. From roads and baths to language and law, children will uncover the incredible legacy the Romans left behind. They’ll investigate real artefacts, create timelines, and use historical enquiry skills to bring this fascinating era to life. By the end of the topic, they’ll understand just how much of Roman Britain still shapes our world today!
